Dr. Iván Martén is a Senior Partner Emeritus of Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and Non-Executive Director and Board Member of several foundations, companies, and educational institutions. He was educated as an economist at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and received a Ph.D in Philosophy, Business Administration and Economics from the same institution with a summa cum laude.
He joined BCG in 1987 and served as Leader in Energy Practice for Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), advising governments and regulators on issues related to energy regulation and sustainable development.
He is a frequent speaker on energy and geopolitical issues, has authored a book on strategic planning and many articles on energy issues, and regularly contributes to the Wall Street Journal. In 2013, he was named one of the "Top 25" most influential consultants of the year by Consulting Magazine.
