Dr. Mohammed Yousef Al-Mulla is a distinguished leader in Qatar’s petrochemical industry, serving as the Managing Director and CEO of Qatar Petrochemical Company (QAPCO), Qatofin Company Limited, and Qatar Vinyl Company Limited (QVC). Since assuming these roles in 2007 and 2017, respectively, Dr. Al-Mulla has driven these companies to become global leaders in petrochemical production through strategic growth, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to operational excellence.

Dr. Al-Mulla’s career began at QAPCO in 1988, where his expertise in electrical engineering quickly propelled him through the ranks. By 2007, he had ascended to the position of CEO, where he played a pivotal role in overseeing major projects, including the expansion of QAPCO’s low-density polyethylene (LDPE) production capacity and the integration of QVC with QAPCO. These efforts significantly enhanced the operational efficiency and global competitiveness of the companies under his leadership.

Beyond his executive roles, Dr. Al-Mulla has made substantial contributions to the broader energy sector in Qatar. He serves on the boards of several key industry organizations, including Industries Qatar (IQ), Ras Laffan Olefins Company Limited (RLOC), and Gulf International Services (GIS). Additionally, he is the Vice Chairman of the Gulf Petrochemicals & Chemicals Association (GPCA) and the Chairman of Gulf Helicopters and Qatar Plastic Products Company (QPPC).

Dr. Al-Mulla’s academic background is as impressive as his professional achievements. He holds a Ph.D. in Engineering from the University of Leicester, United Kingdom, a Master’s degree in Business Administration, and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. His commitment to education extends beyond his personal achievements, as he plays an active role in enhancing Qatar’s educational sector. He serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees at the University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) and is deeply involved in various academic advisory boards.
